About the Farm

Right Time Farms is a new small-scale farm in Shelbyville, Illinois. It was founded in 2026 by Trevor Burrows and Portia Kapraun.

This year we are focusing on vegetable production. Our crop plans include many summer and fall favorites, including several varieties of tomatoes, eggplants, summer and winter squash --- even sweet corn! If all goes well, we hope to expand our offerings next year and possibly offer a small CSA.

We do our best to use farming practices that are mindful of both our health and the environment. Although we are not certified organic, we do not use any pesticides or synthetic amendments on the farm.

About Trevor and Portia

Trevor and Portia are basically a couple of big book-loving nerds. We live in Shelbyville with our dog named Winchester and six chickens (Minnie, Nina, Whitney, Roberta, Anita, and Loretta). There's a good chance we'll work some arts and culture-related puns into our farm lives very soon.

Come say hello

The best way to find us is at the Saturday market. See where we'll be, or get in touch anytime.
